CEO-President
Chris Majerle was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Maryland in 1966. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, Rhonda. Their children are grown and on their own.
He became a real estate agent in 1975 and attained the Graduate Realtors® Institute (GRI) designation by 1977 when he also earned his broker’s license. By 1982, he found that his love for property maintenance (painting, carpentry, ceramic) made him well-suited to manage rental property. For the next 10 years, he worked with several companies as their property manager. In 1987, he opened Majerle Management, Inc. (named after him not out of vanity, but because he had developed so many professional relationships that he wanted the area real estate community to know it was his company.) Through referrals and hard work, MMI became a leading area rental management firm.
Immediately, he was approached about managing a small condominium community and he jumped at the chance. Over the next few years, he concentrated on making this and a few other communities operate with good financial sense and business-like planning.
Chris has been awarded the Community Management designations: Certified Manager of Community Assoications, (CMCA), Association Management Specialist, (AMS) and the coveted Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation through the Community Associations Institute of DC.
Chris has served on the CAI Publications Committee where he worked on their periodical, QUORUMTM and has authored numerous articles for that publication. He currently serves as Chair of the Prince George’s Association of REALTORS® Property Management Committees and is past chair of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors® Property Management Committee. He has been a resident in a community association and serves as Treasurer for the Hanover Office Park Condominium. In 2011, Chris was appointed to the Community Associations Institute’s Maryland Legislative Action Committee (LAC). He also serves on the Washington Metro Chapter’s Maryland Legislative Committee and the Chesapeake Chapter’s Expo Committee.
